River City Voices is seeking a dynamic Artistic Director to take Western Sydney’s flagship Symphonic Choir forward into our next chapter.
 

About River City Voices

River City Voices is the flagship auditioned symphonic choir for the City of Parramatta and Western Sydney.

Since 2018 River City Voices has been providing a platform for artists and communities in Western Sydney to develop and present the public performance of large-scale classical and contemporary choral works. We showcase music and art that is innovative, stylistically diverse, culturally relevant and locally responsive for our diverse and unique audiences.

Over the years we have grown to encompass 70 choristers, associated musicians, conductors, administrators, volunteers and more that meet weekly; where we create music and community. We are Western Sydney’s choir.

About the role

You will be part of a small, skilled, experienced and motivated team who are caring, bold, respectful and inclusive and work hard to produce artistic and musical excellence in Western Sydney.  You will be responsible for working with the General Manager to deliver artistic excellence in programming, conducting, rehearsal and chorister management.

Alongside the General Manager you will be responsible for managing the artistic process from concept to delivery, supported by the established networks and procedures developed by River City Voices since founding.

The job’s administrative hours are work from home, with rehearsals running primarily out of St Patrick’s Cathedral Parramatta and performances in Western Sydney and Parramatta.

As well as a CV we are asking applicants to complete a brief hypothetical programming exercise for 2028 & 2029 seasons with River City Voices. Full details of the task, budgets and previous programming can be found here.

Second round of interviews and audition rehearsal with River City Voices:
15/10/2026 - 6.30pm - 9.30pm - St Patrick's Cathedral, Parramatta 

This will be the opportunity to take a rehearsal with River City Voices choristers that will be observed by a panel of industry professionals, River City Voices’ GM and selected board members.
