About
Based in Parramatta, River City Voices is a choral not-for-profit organisation that was established for and by western Sydney arts practitioners to present, facilitate, promote and encourage the public performance of
large-scale classical and contemporary choral works.
Our Vision
Led by our exceptional Artistic Director and Principal Conductor, Dr Sarah Penicka-Smith, our vision is to become a permanent, integral and relevant player in the artistic and cultural landscape of western Sydney.
As the flagship symphonic choir for the City of Parramatta, River City Voices is conveniently located in the demographic heart of Sydney. Parramatta, Sydney's River City, is currently experiencing unprecedented growth. Nearly half of its residents are aged between 25-50, and speak over 140 languages. By 2021, Parramatta will also be home to nearly 200,000 city workers.

Our Mission
Our mission is to meet the demand voiced by the community, for cultural organisations and performance events that broaden horizons closer to home.
Our goals are to:
-
Present exceptional programs of classical and contemporary choral music that are innovative and stylistically diverse, culturally relevant and locally responsive for our diverse and unique audiences
-
Facilitate performance and educational workshops that unite the choir with people from all ages and backgrounds to experience large choral works, acquire new vocal skills, increase social connection and improve well being
-
Provide western Sydney singers, conductors, musicians and composers participating at the community level or developing their professional careers, opportunities for engagement in choral performances and professional development mentorship
-
Collaborate with western Sydney artists, arts organisations, local government and community organisations, to develop inspirational programs that advance and promote the stories and culture of western Sydney.
