Elias Wilson | Tenor

Tenor Elias Wilson is a Biripi man, a performer of opera, chamber music and musical theatre, and a Young Artist at Opera Australia. Elias holds a Master of Music Studies (Opera Performance) and a Bachelor of Music Studies from Sydney Conservatorium of Music and following his studies he was a 2022 scholarship recipient with Melba Opera Trust. 
 

In 2023, Elias appeared in two seasons with Victorian Opera, covering two roles and appearing in the ensemble of Sweeney Todd at the Sydney Opera House, and creating the role of Gary in First Nations opera The Visitors at Arts Centre Melbourne. Elias has appeared on the opera stages of Pinchgut Opera (Cavalli’s The Loves of Apollo & Dafne), NIDA (Lysander, Britten’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream), Pacific Opera (Nemorino, Donizetti’s L’elisir d’amore), and as Madame de la Haltière for Sydney Conservatorium’s production of Massenet’s Cendrillon. 
 

In demand as a chamber and oratorio soloist, Elias has performed with the Australian Brandenburg Orchestra, Cantillation, and The Song Company, and in 2022 toured as soloist in Handel’s Messiah to Darwin under the baton of conductor Brett Weymark OAM. Elias has previously appeared as a soloist with River City Voices for Mozart’s Requiem, and as Beethoven in “All Aboard with Beethoven” in 2024.

 

In 2025 Elias makes his debut on both the Joan Sutherland Theatre and Concert Hall stages of the Sydney Opera House, as concert soloist for Opera Australia and Sydney Philharmonia Choirs.
