Elias Wilson | Tenor

Tenor Elias Wilson is a Birrpay man and a performer of opera, chamber music and musical theatre.

Elias holds a Master of Music Studies in Opera Performance from Sydney Conservatorium of Music, and was a 2022 scholarship recipient with Melba Opera Trust. In 2023, Elias appeared in two seasons with Victorian Opera, performing in Sweeney Todd at the Sydney Opera House, and creating the role of Gary in First Nations opera The Visitors at Arts Centre Melbourne.

Elias has appeared on the opera stages of Pinchgut Opera (Cavalli's The Loves of Apollo & Dafne), NIDA (Lysander, Britten's A Midsummer Night's Dream), Pacific Opera (Nemorino, Donizetti’s L’Elisir d’Amore), and in drag as Madame de la Haltière for Sydney Conservatorium’s production of Massenet's Cendrillon.

In demand as a chamber music and oratorio performer, Elias performs regularly with the Australian Brandenburg Orchestra, and has toured Bach’s St John Passion to regional NSW as Evangelist, and Handel’s Messiah to Darwin as soloist. A Parramatta resident since 2017, Elias is thrilled to join River City Voices for the first time in 2024.
